CancerCare’s Wig Clinic
Offered in New York, NY; Long Island, NY; Paramus, NJ and various locations in CT
Women diagnosed with any type of cancer who are receiving chemotherapy are eligible to receive a free wig. CancerCare provides new and gently used wigs in a variety of lengths, colors and styles. We offer both in-person and virtual appointments. During an individual 30-minute fitting, women have the opportunity to try on different wigs. Basic wig care is discussed, although we do not have the capacity to cut or style wigs ourselves.
Currently, we are offering virtual and in-person appointments for our Paramus, NJ location.
For more information or to schedule an in-person or virtual appointment, please call our Hopeline at 800-813-4673.
CancerCare’s Breast Prosthesis Clinic
Offered in New York, NY and Long Island, NY
Women with breast cancer who have had a mastectomy are eligible to receive a prosthesis and bra. During an individual 30-minute fitting, women can try on mastectomy bras and breast prostheses with assistance from a trained fitter (in-person fitting requires COVID vaccination). We’re able to provide two mastectomy bras and a breast prosthesis free of charge. It is recommended that clients wait at least six weeks post-surgery to allow for proper healing.
For more information or to schedule an in-person or virtual appointment, please call our Hopeline at 800-813-4673.
