CancerCare’s Manhattan location seeks a full time Social Worker with Bilingual (English-Spanish) skills to be responsible for delivering CancerCare’s free services to people whose lives are affected by cancer. The position is full time, Monday – Friday, 2 days 11 AM – 7 PM and 3 days 9 AM – 5 PM.

The Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Conducting face-to-face and telephone counseling with individuals, as well as telephone and online support groups;
  • Addressing client needs by conducting a brief assessment to determine how the client is coping with cancer;
  • Participating in local presentations, workshops, health fairs, fundraising and community events;
  • Upholding the CancerCare brand and philosophy;
  • Demonstrating a commitment and passion about the organization’s mission and goals.

Clinical Social Work Supervisor, LCSW

Norwalk, CT

CancerCare® seeks a candidate to fill a full time position in its Norwalk, CT location. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervision and oversight of one social worker, support staff and office volunteers. The Supervisor will work to identify and communicate service delivery needs, gaps and trends and make recommendations for program planning needs with an eye toward consistency with CancerCare’s mission.

The Clinical Supervisor will promote the delivery of a high level of compassionate and creative professional social work services to people affected by cancer, including participation on the National HOPELINE while supporting the growth and development of staff.

The Supervisor will be responsible for preparing and facilitating funding site visits with foundations and civic groups to support programmatic fundraising and will participate in CancerCare’s local fundraising events. The Supervisor will maintain contact with health professionals and community organizations to enhance the delivery of services to clients and coordinate all aspects of the CancerCare programs as they relate to the service area while working closely with the Corporate/Foundation team in the NY office to create program reports for funders.

Hopeline Specialist - Part Time

New York City

CancerCare seeks a part time candidate to answer the organization’s toll-free Hopeline and address callers' immediate concerns. The Specialist will assess the need for follow-up services by a CancerCare social worker, eligibility for financial assistance programs and the need for referrals to community services.

The position is Monday – Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, up to 18 hours per week.
