CancerCare Receives $1.3 Million Grant from the Avon Foundation

New York, NY, October 9--CancerCare's Sue Lee (pictured), Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, accepts a $1.3 million "check" from the Avon Foundation during the closing ceremony of the annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, held in New York City on October 8.

The grant will support CancerCare's services to women with breast, cervical and ovarian cancers, including CancerCare's financial assistance programs to its clients and several new CancerCare publications about breast cancer.

CancerCare was one of 14 organizations to receive grants from the Avon Foundation, thanks to the more than 3,500 people who participated in this year's Walk and raised a record $9.7 million to advance access to care and to finding a cure for breast cancer. (Photo courtesy of the Avon Foundation)
