CancerCare® to Host National Gala on April 12, 2022

CancerCare, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, is excited to announce the 2022 National Gala on Tuesday, April 12, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. This event marks the organization’s first in-person gala since 2019.

This year’s gala honors three CancerCare Board of Trustees with the 2022 Help & Hope Award: Christine Converse Hogan, CIO Advisor, Zoom Video Communications Inc.; Marsha Palanci, Founder, Cornerstone Communications; and Susan Smirnoff, Past President of the Board and healthcare communications and public relations consultant.

“After two years of virtually celebrating our organization and those who have made generous contributions to improving the lives of people affected by cancer, we’re looking forward to joining together in-person at this year’s annual gala,” shared CancerCare CEO, Patricia J. Goldsmith. “This marks our 78th year of bringing free, direct services to anyone affected by cancer and helping them cope with the emotional, practical and financial challenges of a cancer diagnosis. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our work over the years, and especially thankful to this year’s honorees, Christine Converse Hogan, Marsha Palanci and Susan Smirnoff, as well as the Schachne family and Mastercard, for their generosity.”

Mastercard will serve as the Exclusive Auction sponsor and Preferred Payment Partner of this year’s gala. The auction features selections of fine wines, art, food experiences, a suite for a New York Yankees game, vacation getaways and once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as a virtual book club with The New York Times best-selling author of “The Henna Artist,” Alka Joshi. The event will also showcase a live performance by Tony and Grammy Award-nominee Jeremy Jordan.

CancerCare would also like to thank the 2022 Gala Co-Chairs, Paula Lascano and Annette Alvarez Pizzo, as well as the Gala Committee: Paul M. Friedman, Christine Converse Hogan, Kay Hsu, Rachel Klein, Loretta and Raymond Moseman, Marsha Palanci, Lori and Michael Parisi, Chandni Patel, Drew Pizzo, Eleanor Signona, Susan Smirnoff and Kirk Zachary and Burt Zweigenhaft.
