Monthly Staff Feature: Co-Pay Assistance Foundation

alt text

This month, we’re recognizing the vital services our Co-Pay Assistance team provides CancerCare clients navigating the financial hurdles of accessing cancer treatments, including high co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance for prescribed treatments. Since the launch of CancerCare’s Co-Payment Assistance Foundation in 2008, the amount of financial assistance we have been able to offer our clients has grown substantially, thanks in large part to our dedicated Co-Pay Assistance team.

What is your favorite thing about your job? My favorite thing about my job is knowing that we’re able to make a difference in someone’s life.

What sets CancerCare apart from other organizations? I feel what sets us apart from other organizations are the many services and wonderful programs we have to offer to patients and their loved ones. We have a great team at CancerCare that believes in the mission.

Can you share an important memory about CancerCare? My daughter and son-in-law volunteered at CancerCare’s Healing Hearts Bereavement Camp. They called to tell me about the wonderful experience they had with the families and with CancerCare’s staff. They truly experienced just one of CancerCare’s many services. Another memory I have was volunteering with my colleagues in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women. We had such a great time. My mom and siblings signed up for walk as well and enjoyed the experience.

How has working at CancerCare affected or changed you? CancerCare was there for me when my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 19 years ago. My colleagues were able to help me deal with the experience of facing cancer in my family. I truly understand how important our services are for others.
