Description

CancerCare’s Coping Circle Community Programs is proud to host an educational workshop on nutrition for young adults affected by cancer. This workshop is open to young adults affected by cancer who are between the ages of 19 and 39. It is open to those in active treatment as well as post-treatment survivors.

Cancer treatment can be the reason some individuals react differently to foods and, as a result, eating healthy can be difficult for many. Nutrition is an important part of maintaining your strength and weight and can help cope with treatment side effects. There are many ways to get the nutrients you need when treatment disrupts your diet.

Karen Berg, Oncology Dietician, MS, RD, CSO, CDN, will discuss these issues and answer participant questions. The second half of the workshop will include a cooking demo! The ingredient list will be sent following registration if you are interested in cooking along with Karen.

Please join us to learn more and connect with other young adults affected by cancer!

This workshop will be co-facilitated by Marlee Kiel, oncology social worker and CancerCare’s Young Adult Program Manager.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Savor Health.
