I’m a breast cancer survivor, but my journey was more than just a diagnosis — it was a fight for my life, my faith and my purpose. When I first heard the words “You have cancer,” my world shifted instantly. But even in that moment of fear and uncertainty, I chose faith over fear. Chemo was rough — it tested every ounce of my strength. Surgery was emotional and life-changing, a reminder that healing isn’t just physical, it’s deeply personal. Radiation was manageable, but still a daily reminder of the battle I was in. Through it all, I pushed through with faith, determination and the love and support of those around me. Cancer changed how I see life; it taught me gratitude, resilience, and the importance of using my voice to help others. Today, I stand as an advocate, educator, and encourager — using my story to remind women that no matter what life throws at you, you can’t give up now.
When I first heard the words “You have cancer,” I was hurt, scared, and honestly, mad. It felt like the air was knocked out of me. I had so many questions and emotions running through my mind — why me, God? what now? But once I got past the shock and the tears, something in me shifted. I went from fear to fight mode. I told myself, this is not how my story ends. I stepped into warrior mode — ready to do whatever it took to live, to heal and to trust God every step of the way. Cancer came for me, but it didn’t win. It woke up a strength in me I didn’t even know I had.
CancerCare has been such a blessing throughout my cancer journey. It’s truly my go-to resource. I’ve learned so much from their educational materials and programs — they make sure you never feel alone or uninformed. What I love most is that it’s not just about information; it’s about support. CancerCare offers a community that understands what you’re going through, and that means everything. It’s a safe space where I can learn, connect and feel encouraged while navigating this journey.
