CancerCare® Welcomes Melissa Magyar as Chief Advancement Officer

CancerCare® is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa L. Magyar, CFRE as its new Chief Advancement Officer. With a strong background in development, Melissa will lead advancement efforts to expand CancerCare's impact and strengthen community engagement.

Melissa joins CancerCare with nearly two decades of progressive fundraising experience, most recently serving as Executive Director of Principal Gifts and Campaigns at Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation. There, she played a key role in a $1 billion comprehensive campaign, working with the Foundation team to raise more than $700 million to date, and coached colleagues in securing multimillion-dollar gifts aligned with institutional priorities. Previously, she served as Executive Director at Raritan Bay and Old Bridge Medical Centers Foundation.

At CancerCare, Melissa will report to the Chief Executive Officer and lead a team spanning individual giving, institutional partnerships, operations, and events. She will work closely with the Board, senior leadership, and volunteers to deepen donor engagement, expand the organization’s philanthropic revenue base, and advance its mission nationwide.
