CancerCare® Announces 2025 Young Professionals Committee Scholarship Recipients

CancerCare®, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer for over 80 years, is proud to announce the seven recipients of its Young Professionals Committee (YPC) Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year: Zachary, Hilina, Chloe, Zelda, Muhawenimana, Amy and Madison.

Launched in March 2020, the YPC Scholarship Program awards one-time scholarships of $2,500 to young adults entering college or currently enrolled in a four- or six-year program at an accredited college or university who have lost a parent or guardian to cancer.

This year’s seven awardees join a growing community of young adults supported through the YPC Scholarship Program. To date, CancerCare's YPC has awarded 30 college scholarships totaling $75,000, empowering young people to pursue their academic and personal goals while honoring the memory of the parent they lost.

“All of us on the Young Professionals Committee are so moved by the strength and resilience of this year’s scholarship recipients,” said Allison Lau, Chair of CancerCare's Young Professionals Committee. “These young adults endured profound loss at a formative age, yet they are moving forward with hope and ambition. We are deeply honored to support their education.”

The Young Professionals Committee, CancerCare's junior board, works closely with organizational leaders and community partners to expand outreach, raise funds and drive initiatives that support young adults affected by cancer.
