CancerCare®'s 34th Festival of Hope Gala Shines Light on Supporters and Advocates
2022 Gala Raised Over $160,000 to Support New Jersey Residents Affected By Cancer
CancerCare® is excited to share that its 34th Annual Festival of Hope Gala, held on May 11, 2022, at the Park Savoy, in Florham Park, NJ, raised over $160,000 to support individuals affected by cancer, along with their families. A portion of the donations will directly support the Healing Hearts Bereavement Camp, a free weekend retreat for families grieving the loss of a loved one to cancer. CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional services to anyone affected by cancer, with a regional office located in Paramus, NJ.
“We are so humbled and thankful to have once again celebrated our tireless advocates face-to-face this year,” said Kathy Nugent, LCSW, CancerCare’s Senior Director of Regional Programs. “Thanks to the generosity of our partners, patient advocates and other supporters, we can continue bringing direct support services to the people who need us most.”
CancerCare was proud to present its 2022 Corporate Achievement Award to UroGen, a biotech company dedicated to developing and commercializing innovative solutions that treat urothelial and specialty cancers. The award was accepted by Liz Barrett, UroGen’s President and Chief Executive Officer, who shared her personal connection to CancerCare’s patient advocacy work and spoke of the progress UroGen has made in developing new treatment options for patients with urothelial and bladder cancers. During her remarks, she said, “When you work with cancer in whichever way, it becomes personal. I am inspired by all of you and your dedication to the cancer community, and to experience this well-deserved show of support for CancerCare. I am proud that UroGen is a sponsor and avid supporter of CancerCare and the magnificent work they do for those who face the challenge of a cancer journey.”
In addition to all of its sponsors, CancerCare would like to thank this year’s 2022 Festival of Hope Gala Committee Members who helped make the night a success: Joyce Heller, the Morrone Family and Barbara Parmese.
