CancerCare® Expands In-person Services With New Long Island Office

CancerCare, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, is pleased to announce the official opening of its new Long Island office today. In addition to its offices in New York City and New Jersey, the 78-year-old organization has also directly served residents of Long Island since 1978.

The opening of its newest office, located at 819 Grand Boulevard, Suite 3, Deer Park, NY, allows for the organization, which services include in-person counseling to residents of New York, to reach more Long Islanders directly.

“We are excited to once again have a physical presence in the community. Having a dedicated space for our oncology social workers to provide face-to-face services for our clients makes such a positive difference,” said Marissa Fors, LCSW, OSW-C, C-ASWCM, CCM, CancerCare’s Director of Specialized Programs, who will oversee the social services team in Deer Park, in partnership with Victoria Puzo, LCSW, CancerCare’s Online Support Group Program Director, who added, “We look forward to welcoming anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis, including their loved ones, at our office.”

With support from generous partners, including United Way of Long Island, the CancerCare team welcomes the opportunity to continue fostering its local support and partnerships on Long Island.

CancerCare offices are open five days a week, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
