Raising Clinical Trial Awareness at Grand Central
Last month, CancerCare was honored to participate in the “Two Words” clinical trial awareness event, held at Grand Central in New York City. Hosted in Vanderbilt Hall, this powerful campaign brought together leading advocacy organizations, patients, caregivers and the public to change the conversation around cancer clinical trials.
We were proud to share the hall with fellow advocacy groups, including TOUCH, LUNGevity, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and BreastCancerTrials.org in this collaborative effort. Our collective mission? To demystify clinical trials, encourage patient enrollment and support informed decision-making for those navigating a cancer diagnosis.
The event featured a special guest appearance by actor and long-time cancer advocate Rob Lowe. His presence brought visibility to the cause, inspired our community and served as a reminder of the lives that can be changed through clinical research.
As part of the event, CancerCare shared resources and insights about the importance of clinical trials and how patients can access them. We spotlighted our innovative myTRIAList tool, designed to help patients and caregivers find clinical trials in their area that match their diagnosis, stage and treatment history.
In addition to myTRIAList, CancerCare offers:
• Clinical trial navigation services through our oncology social workers
• Educational materials to help patients understand the clinical trial process
• Support groups and counseling to empower patients during decision-making
We’re deeply grateful to have been part of this event and to continue our work with passionate advocacy partners.
