Director of Patient Assistance Programs
Jane is the Director of Patient Assistance Programs at CancerCare where she is responsible for implementing and managing the organization’s financial assistance programs which in 2015 totaled more than 4.2 million dollars annually and served more than 15,000 cancer patients. She has been in charge of developing comprehensive programs of financial assistance and psychosocial support for various populations. She has managed large gifts from the Avon Foundation, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Millennium pharmaceuticals, the New York Community Trust, Susan G. Komen®, the Web MD Foundation, and many others. She is a founding member and coordinator for the Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition (C-FAC) a group of twelve national organizations dedicated to helping patients manage their financial challenges.
Prior to her current position at CancerCare, Jane was the coordinator of the organization’s toll-free telephone service, the Cancer Resource Directory Project, and the Graduate Education Program. Before joining CancerCare, Ms. Levy was a medical social worker at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW), and since 1999, she has run a weekly national telephone support group for women with stage 4 breast cancer.
