About CancerCare of New Jersey

CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides free professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved. CancerCare programs – including counseling, education, financial assistance and practical help – are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge.

CancerCare of New Jersey was founded in 1982 to ensure that New Jersey residents had full access to all CancerCare programs. CancerCare of New Jersey provides individual help to more than 11,000 people each year.

Workshops

• Take Control of your Health Workshop
  Date: Monday October 18 – November 22
  Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  Place: 141 Dayton St. Ridgewood, NJ 07450
  An interactive workshop developed by Stanford University and Kaiser Permanente, that helps people who have on-going health problems learn how to take control of their health. The workshop helps people to begin to take small steps toward positive changes and healthier living. The workshop will meet for two hours once a week for six weeks.

CancerCare for Kids Workshops

• A Day at the Beach (sponsored by Celgene)
  Date: Sunday, September 12
  Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  Place: Sea Gull's Nest, Sandy Hook, NJ
  For families who have lost a loved one to cancer. This will give your family an opportunity to connect and relate to other bereaved families who have experienced similar losses. Food, games, recreational and grief activities will be available free of charge.
