CancerCare of Long Island
CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides free professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved. CancerCare programs – including counseling, education, financial assistance and practical help – are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge.
CancerCare of Long Island was founded in 1978 to ensure that Long Island residents had full access to all CancerCare programs. CancerCare of Long Island provides individual help to more than 15,000 people each year.
CancerCare of Long Island is generously supported by United Way of Long Island.

This support group can give you an opportunity to share your experiences, concerns, and fears in a safe, supportive environment. We will explore various coping skills to help deal with the illness.
This group is facilitated by a professionally trained oncology social worker from CancerCare's staff.

Diagnosed with cancer in your 20's or 30's? Interested in joining a support group with people your own age? The Young Adult Patient Support Group may be for you.
This group will meet weekly for ten sessions for those who are currently in treatment between the ages of 20 and 40. It will begin Monday, January 4th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Pre-registration is required.
