CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides free professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved. CancerCare programs – including counseling, education, financial assistance and practical help – are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge.
CancerCare of Connecticut was founded in 1988 to ensure that Connecticut residents had full access to all CancerCare programs. CancerCare of Connecticut provides individual help to nearly 2,000 people each year.

CHET Scholarship Fund
It is with pleasure that CancerCare of Connecticut introduces the CHET (we Care, we Help, we Excel Together) Scholarship Fund, a program of CancerCare of Connecticut. CHET scholarships are available to help Connecticut residents who have lost a parent or sibling to cancer to pursue their post-secondary education goals.
The CHET Sholarship Fund was founded in memory of Chet Smith who passed away at the age of 41 due to lung cancer. The program will allow Chet Smith's love of learning to live on by supporting college students in achieving their academic goals. Please click here to access the application
. Please note the list of required documentation and the firm deadline of May 3, 2010. We look forward to receiving your application.
