New Online Resource

Visit MyCancerCircle.net

We know that cancer profoundly impacts family members and others close to a person who has been diagnosed. Boehringer Ingelheim, in collaboration with CancerCare, has created My Cancer Circle™, a simple, customizable online tool that helps organize the community of family members, friends, and others who want to lend a hand. Through a Help Calendar, caregivers are able to enlist friends and family to sign up for tasks, including cooking dinner and offering rides to doctor’s appointments. My Cancer Circle also encourages message and photo sharing among members.

To learn more or to create a community to help support a loved one coping with cancer, please visit mycancercircle.net.

UV Safety Month

  • Read our fact sheet, “Staying Safe in the Sun,” for tips on protecting yourself from UV rays and spotting any possible signs of skin cancer.
  • Faces of Skin Cancer is an online community for people affected by advanced skin cancer to hear from others and share their experiences with the disease. The program will donate $1 to advanced skin cancer programs each time the video on the homepage is viewed and for each new story submitted.

For Professionals

Our professional oncology social workers recently attended the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) Annual Conference, where CancerCare’s Director of Education and Training, Carolyn Messner, DSW was named “Oncology Social Worker of the Year” and oncology social worker Sarah Kelly, LCSW won the award for “Best Poster Presentation.”
