Our story started 35 years ago when my family and I decided that we want to "go big" with holiday lights since we had the room and property to make this happen. First, we started with a few thousand lights, some plastic figurines and other holiday items. As time went on, the display grew and grew.

For years we had a Santa’s Workshop display, which has now been replaced with Cinderella's Carriage. The carriage is life size so we’ve been using it to take pictures of our guests as it helps to generate contributions for CancerCare. Through the years, our display has changed. Items are retired and new and exciting pieces take their place.

We got started with CancerCare around 1988 when our neighbors, were diagnosed with cancer. The family was told by friends to contact CancerCare for support. My wife and I were amazed with everything that CancerCare offered. I spoke to my wife that we should do something as small as it may be to help and support CancerCare. We established a memorial fund for the family.

My wife Josephine is a great believer in CancerCare. She is a three time cancer survivor. She has been cancer free for eight years now and still going strong. She is a believer, fighter and a very loving person. Our display has two pink lighted trees with the pink ribbon. This is for the all the people that have been affected by breast cancer, including my wife. Just a small symbol showing our support for those affected and supporting CancerCare.

Recently, we have expanded the ways we fundraise for CancerCare. Since I worked as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines, I also do a hot dog sale and raffle off a basket of cheer for the holidays, where all proceeds for CancerCare.

My wife and I are great believers in CancerCare’s mission and look forward to continuing our holiday traditions!
