Children’s Program Coordinator
Ahuva provides supportive counseling and resources to patients, caregivers, loved ones and people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. She is part of the CancerCare for KidsTM program and has provided outreach to New York City hospitals by giving presentations about CancerCare services, specifically for children. Ahuva is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Ahuva shares, “Witnessing the strength that patients and caregivers may never have known they have inspires me on a personal and professional level. My hope is that through counseling, my clients feel heard and validated, empowered to advocate for themselves/loved one, and learn to tap into their inner strengths. My interest in working with children has led me to be active in CancerCare for Kids program which offers counseling and support groups, providing children with the invaluable gift of having their voice heard, feelings understood, and a safe space to process the changes they are experiencing.”
