About the Event:

Help us to raise three scholarships for the YPC Scholarship Program by committing to one continuous hour of physical activity in support of a great cause. The event is virtual. Join us anywhere you are comfortable getting up, getting outside and moving!

In order to make this event as inclusive as possible, and to encourage folks to take advantage of the warmer weather as the world opens up from the pandemic, we welcome all kinds of activity. Here are some examples: walking, running, swimming, biking, gardening, yoga, Pilates, virtual exercise classes or any other physical activity you can think of.

Registration Fee: $30 per person or $50 per couple

As a token of our appreciation, all registrants will receive a CancerCare mask after the event has been completed. So please make sure to include your mailing address and contact information so we can follow up, if needed.

About the YPC Scholarship

The YPC Scholarship is a one-time $2,500 award to young adults currently enrolled in college who have recently lost a parent or guardian to cancer. The scholarship program has reopened for the 2021-2022 academic year and submissions are reviewed on a rolling, first-come basis.

About the Young Professionals Committee

CancerCare’s Young Professionals Committee (YPC) is considered its junior board and works closely in partnership with key stakeholders within CancerCare and in collaboration with partner organizations to expand outreach, raise funds and realize strategic initiatives based on its focus areas and priorities. The YPC is a leadership volunteer position comprised of individuals 40 years old or younger with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Together, the members engage in the community-at-large and spearhead social and professional initiatives and events that mirror and amplify CancerCare’s mission with a focus on young adults impacted by cancer.

We provided $48.7 million in financial assistance and 3,700 safe transportation to and from treatment during the pandemic.
