The Longest Day of Golf (LDG) is an annual golf marathon that benefits the professional counseling, education and financial assistance services CancerCare of Connecticut provides to Connecticut residents affected by cancer. LDG golfers are sponsored either "per hole" or by flat donation. On their Longest Day of Golf they rise before dawn to hit the links and play as many holes of golf as possible. The event raises well into 6 figures each year with more than $1,000,000 raised to date.
