CancerCare is pleased to collaborate with The Family Center on the second in a series of workshops.

This free workshop will present a continuation of topics covered in the first workshop which provided an overview of patient and professional navigation of Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, SSDI and food stamps programs available in New York State, with an emphasis on eligibility, access, and other issues relevant for people with cancer.

This presentation is approved by the New York State Education Department; 1.5 CEUs will be available to New York State-licensed social workers. MD Anderson has approved 1 CEU to non-New York State social workers. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is an approved provider through the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners, provider #CS4607. CancerCare, Inc. SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0088.

The Family Center provides expert legal and social services to individuals and families affected by illness, crisis and loss.

The presenters are Caroline Bersak, Esq., who specializes in Landlord-Tenant, Trusts and Estates, and Matrimonial and Family Law litigation, and Jonathan Riedel, Legal Services Coordinator.
