The Website Development Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management and updating of the technical aspects of CancerCare’s websites and ensures their design, functionality and operability reflect the organization’s mission and services.

Responsibilities

Website Maintenance

  • Manage website updates and features
  • Maintain databases for websites and other services
  • Identify and respond to any technical issues

E-communications

  • E-News – format, test and distribute CancerCare’s monthly e-newsletter. Manage mailing list
  • Professional Outreach – format, test and distribute emails to the health care professional community

Reporting

  • Track and report on all site metrics
  • Implement and report on grant-funding fulfillment related to website

NetCommunity

  • Troubleshoot and identify any technical issues with emails or event fundraising websites through BlackBaud’s NetCommunity, an email and fundraising website tool

Online Support Groups

  • Provide technical support and guidance to ensure optimal service delivery

Vendor Point Person

  • Serve as primary contact with external vendors on technical, non-technical and content-related website issues. Evaluate potential vendors for projects as needed

Billing

  • Assist in managing website budget; track and pay bills

Requirements, Education and Skills

  • Degree plus 1-3 years of website development and maintenance experience, preferably for a non-profit or academic organization
  • Ability to write and edit clean, well-structured HTML5, CSS3, and PHP code
  • Fluency with Ruby on Rails and Javascript preferred
  • Comfortable using Adobe’s Creative Suite, an FTP client, and web-based content management systems
  • Experience with version-control systems like Git a plus
  • Fluency with industry-standard web technologies to benefit our marketing efforts; website design experience a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Good eye for detail
  • Provide innovative ideas about how technology can be used to further the organization’s mission; ability to implement those ideas highly preferred
