CancerCare To Honor President of sanofi-aventis U.S. at 23rd Annual Awards Dinner

The Lance Armstrong Foundation and Weber Shandwick Worldwide Executives Also Honored; Dinner Will Support CancerCare’s Free Services For Cancer Patients and Their Loved Ones

NEW YORK, NY, January 19, 2006—CancerCare has announced its 23rd annual Human Services Awards Dinner honorees; the event will be held on February 28 at Bridgewaters at the South Street Seaport. Awards will go to Timothy G. Rothwell, President and Chief Executive Officer of sanofi-aventis U.S.; Laura Schoen, President of Global Healthcare, Weber Shandwick Worldwide; and Mitch Stoller, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Lance Armstrong Foundation. Every year, CancerCare recognizes individuals who have dedicated extraordinary efforts to improving the lives of people with cancer.

“We are delighted to present the Human Services Award to Timothy G. Rothwell, whose outstanding leadership at sanofi-aventis U.S. has helped CancerCare in many ways,” said Diane Blum, Executive Director, CancerCare. “Timothy has ensured that sanofi’s long tradition of philanthropy and community involvement remains strong. CancerCare truly appreciates all that he and sanofi-aventis have done to support our organization and we are honored to recognize them.”

Laura Schoen, President of Global Healthcare, Weber Shandwick Worldwide, will receive the Regulus Award. Weber Shandwick Worldwide has been instrumental in advancing CancerCare’s cause related marketing program, which has helped the organization build awareness and strengthen its visibility throughout the country.

Mitch Stoller, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, will receive the Beacon Award. This award is presented to an individual whose business has had a direct and measurable impact on the services CancerCare provides. The Lance Armstrong Foundation is the sole funder of CancerCare’s LIVESTRONG Intake Center, which handles all incoming requests from clients in need. The Lance Armstrong Foundation also helped provide emergency financial assistance to hundreds of CancerCare clients affected by the Gulf Coast Hurricanes.

Previous CancerCare honorees include: Joseph Abboud, Linda Allard, Jane Brody, Dana Buchman, Katie Couric, Joe Hogan of GE Medical, Marc Jacobs, Cokie Roberts, Christy Turlington, and Daniel Vasella of Novartis. Since 1983, The Human Services Awards Dinner has raised close to $13 million to support CancerCare’s programs and services.
